Johnny Hammond's Career
 Johnny Hammond, won an International Gold Medal with the Bayou City MusicCommittee and a District Championship with the Debonaires. Since winning the District Championship, Johnny was elected to the Southwest District Hall of Fame.
In February 1947, he joined the Society for the Presevation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing of America (SPBSQSA), of which he is still an active member. Johnny's first love is singing in a Barber Shop Quartet. He was seldom without an active Quartet and competition was his first priority. Since 1998, he has provided a cappella entertainment at sporting events, birthdays, special occasions, etc. and can customize his presentation for your event. He also continues to provide the old songs with piano accompaniment (Johnny and Ardener). He is an active participant in the duet The Hayride Singers and the quartet The Rumbleseat Four and another quartet called the Houstonaires. In April of 2007, Johnny accepted his 60th annual membership certificate from the SPBSQSA Houston TX chapter. This is a major milestone in his singing career. Time Line
